Hei Huruhuru RTLB Cluster 17 is seeking an RTLB, or highly skilled and experienced teachers (with more than 5 years teaching experience as a NZ registered teacher) to join our team. The position is in the Otorohanga/Te Kuiti areas (or by negotiation). The successful applicants will be supported to provide specialist, itinerant support to build teacher and school capability in learning and behaviour, using evidence-informed, inclusive and culturally responsive practice. Leadership experience in supporting teachers dealing with diverse learning needs would be beneficial. Being bilingual, and having Te Marautanga ō Aotearoa or Te Whāriki learning strands experience would be advantageous considering Cluster 17 has several kura and rumaki (bilingual units). Applicants (with a teaching degree) who have yet to train as an RTLB must attend the postgraduate RTLB study within 12 months of starting their position. The successful applicant will work with a strengths-based approach, have strong interpersonal skills, and work with other professionals collaboratively through He Pikorua, the learning support practice framework. A full driver's licence is required. The RTLB may be based at a host school and be required to travel 90 minutes to a remote school. The job entails travel to cater to the needs of ākonga. The start date is by negotiation or Term 1 2027.
