About the role

Nightcaps, Southland | Opening January 2027 (Subject to Licensing) Little Taki's Community Kindergarten is a brand-new, community-focused early childhood service, and we're looking for passionate, qualified teachers to help bring our vision to life. This is a rare opportunity to be part of our founding team, helping shape our culture, learning environments, and the experiences of children and whānau from day one. We are currently recruiting: 3 qualified early childhood teachers – over two's/preschool room 2 qualified early childhood teachers – under two's room 1 full-time qualified teacher – break cover across the centre 1 part-time qualified teacher – non-contact cover (approximately 15 hours per week) At Little Taki's, we are creating a warm, homely, rural kindergarten where relationships, play, and belonging are at the heart of everything we do. Guided by Te Whāriki, we value collaboration, innovation, and providing high-quality education and care for every child. As a service participating in the full pay parity scheme, eligible qualified teachers will be employed in accordance with the current pay parity salary scales, alongside dedicated non-contact time, paid staff meetings, professional growth opportunities, and a supportive team environment. We know great teachers come with different needs, so we're committed to finding the right people. Flexible working arrangements, including part-time hours and job-share opportunities, will be considered for suitable applicants. If you hold a recognised early childhood qualification, a current Teaching Council Practising Certificate, and are excited by the opportunity to help establish a new kindergarten, we'd love to hear from you.
