Director of Learning Enhancement / SENCO

This position will strengthen learning support for teachers, students, and whānau while including responsibility for one timetabled teaching class. Working closely with the Assistant Rector – Teaching and Learning and the Learning Support Team in The Hub, you will help build staff capability and coordinate effective support for diverse learners. Key responsibilities Identify learning and behavioural needs, maintain records, and develop culturally responsive support pathways. Teach one timetabled class (please indicate subject expertise). Work alongside classroom teachers and ESOL staff to model effective strategies and develop learning plans. Partner with parents and whānau, ensuring they are actively involved in support decisions. Liaise with external agencies, the Ministry of Education, and RTLB networks to support student success and transitions. You will bring Registration as a teacher or RTLB; SENCO qualifications are an advantage. Strong relationship-building skills with students, staff, and families. Knowledge of the Aotearoa New Zealand learning support system. Experience identifying needs, implementing interventions, and monitoring progress. A reflective, organised approach and commitment to professional growth. Experience with Assessment for Learning and/or ESOL support.
