About the role
Bay of Islands College is seeking a dynamic and passionate leader of learning – mathematics to lead and inspire teaching and learning across our mathematics faculty. We are looking for a positive, innovative and caring leader who can build a strong, collaborative faculty culture and inspire our rangatahi to achieve their best. You will lead through a relational and culturally responsive approach, developing effective relationships with students, staff, whanau and our wider school community. The successful applicant will be pedagogically progressive, have a growth mindset and be confident using achievement and progress information to strengthen teaching and improve outcomes. You will support our students to develop their mathematical understanding, numeracy, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Experience teaching senior mathematics at NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3 is preferred. Experience with Numeracy leadership, assessment and management would be an advantage. Please state any other strengths you would bring to our kura. This is a permanent, full-time position with 2 Management Units. An additional Middle Management Allowance for Numeracy leadership may be available, and opportunities for additional paid tutoring can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
