About the role

St Teresa’s is a Catholic school with a big heart, educating learners from Years 1–8 in the Wairarapa. We are looking for an experienced teacher to join our dedicated team as Deputy Principal and Year 7-8 classroom teacher (2MU). The position starts Term 1, 2027. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real impact on learning and leadership in a vibrant Catholic school and community. Our deputy principal will: be a confident educational leader who will contribute to the ongoing strategic direction of the school. have a genuine passion for working with Year 7-8 students, and preparing them for a successful transition to college. have high expectations for all staff and students. lead with energy, warmth and integrity while building positive, authentic relationships with students, staff, whānau, parish, and the wider community. lead, alongside others, curriculum development, assessment practices and data informed teaching. have excellent communication and relational skills. Capabilities to maintain programmes and activities that reflect the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment. Applicants who are practising Catholics and hold the appropriate qualifications and experience may also be considered for the director of religious studies role (1MU).
