About the role
As an educator at Te Unua Museum of Southland, you will deliver exceptional, hands-on education programmes connecting students and communities to the rich history, heritage, and cultural narratives of Murihiku Southland. What you'll do Deliver engaging physical and digital learning experiences aligned with the NZ Curriculum (including ECE) and support outreach initiatives. Build strong relationships with schools, kura, community groups, and mana whenua. Support collection interpretation through curriculum-aligned programming and collaborate across Council teams. What you'll bring Relevant tertiary qualification in education (or related field) and/or experience delivering curriculum-based learning. Strong understanding of the NZ Curriculum and a passion for bicultural engagement. Experience in a museum, heritage, or cultural environment is advantageous. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and planning skills. Full NZ driver's licence and ability to meet Children's Worker requirements (Police Vetting and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing apply).
