About the role

Are you an experienced and motivated teacher who enjoys working collaboratively and being part of a close-knit school community? We are looking for a teacher who has experience and current knowledge of effective practice in a multi-year-level classroom, along with experience supporting English Language Learners (ELL) to access the curriculum. Alongside your classroom teaching, this role also carries a cultural leadership responsibility within the school. The successful applicant will use their cultural knowledge and experience to strengthen our work in te ao Māori and te reo Māori, support our Māori and Pacific students and whānau, and build cultural capability across our staff. The successful applicant may be eligible for the Cultural Leadership Allowance, in accordance with the Primary Teachers’ Collective Agreement and Ministry of Education criteria. About us As we are a Catholic school, a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to our special character is a condition of appointment. We use the Religious Education Curriculum (Tō Tātou Whakapono Our Faith), Oxford Mathematics and the iDeal spelling programme, and continue to strengthen our practice in Assessment for Learning. We are committed to supporting our teachers to continue developing their practice. You will be supported to strengthen your structured literacy and mathematics pedagogy, develop your understanding of neurodiverse learners, and become confident using our schoolwide teaching approaches and tools. If you are a teacher who values relationships, enjoys working as part of a team and is keen to contribute to both classroom learning and the wider life of a small school community, we would love to hear from you.
