About the role

Help shape a new approach to education. Ignite Arts Academy is developing an innovative One Day Arts Integrated School for Years 7–10, inspired by the A+ Arts Integrated Education philosophy. We are looking for a passionate and capable teacher to join our founding team as we prepare to launch in Term 1, 2027. The opportunity The programme will initially operate one day per week, with additional paid time for preparation, planning and programme development. As enrolments grow, there is potential for the programme to expand to additional school days, creating opportunities for increased teaching hours and greater involvement in the programme. You will teach and facilitate engaging arts-integrated learning while working alongside an experienced team to deliver and refine the programme. Foundational curriculum development is already underway, with experienced educational leadership, mentoring and arts-integrated expertise within the wider team. You will be supported as you develop your practice and contribute your own ideas and strengths. We’re looking for someone who: Is a NZ registered or suitably qualified teacher Is passionate about creative, innovative and connected learning Has experience or a strong interest in arts-integrated education Is confident engaging and inspiring young people Is collaborative, adaptable and open to new approaches Brings energy, initiative and a growth mindset Enjoys creating meaningful learning experiences and contributing to something new Opportunities within Ignite Depending on your skills, experience and availability, there may also be opportunities for additional teaching hours within Ignite Arts Academy. Ignite is an established arts education organisation offering music, dance, drama, holiday programmes and arts-integrated education, providing potential to develop your role across the wider organisation. A+ Professional Development The programme is being developed around the A+ Arts Integrated Education philosophy. As the partnership develops, there may be opportunities for further professional development and potential A+ teacher training in Oklahoma in 2027. Recruitment Shortlisted applicants will be invited to facilitate a two-hour arts-integrated workshop as part of the recruitment process.
