HOLA Mathematics (full time, parental leave position)

We are looking for a full time, fixed term Head of Learning Area - Mathematics to cover for our permanent HOLA while she is on parental leave in 2027. Located in central Wellington, St Mary’s College is a state-integrated Catholic girls’ secondary school with a roll of approximately 550 students. We have a close-knit community known for its supportive culture, collegial staff and excellent academic outcomes. The successful applicant will be a confident teacher who has experience with NCEA and the qualifications framework, and good knowledge of the NCEA Level 1 standards and numeracy requirements. The ability to teach both Level 3 Statistics and Level 3 Calculus will be an advantage. Previous middle leadership experience will also be an advantage. The successful applicant will have the ability to oversee ongoing curriculum innovation, have a collaborative teaching approach, demonstrate strong organisational skills, and show commitment to improving outcomes for all rangitahi. We are seeking a leader who can support culturally responsive and achievement centred relationships with all students. The start date for this position is 1 February 2027. The position will end when the permanent employee returns from parental leave. We currently anticipate the permanent employee taking 12 months’ leave.
