About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate kaiako to join our Year 5/6 Māori Enrichment class at Pukekohe Hill School from Term 1, 2027. We are looking for someone who is passionate about te reo Māori, tikanga Māori and te ao Māori, and who can create an engaging learning environment where our tamariki can grow in their confidence, identity and learning. Applicants should have knowledge of Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga at Level 2 immersion, a sound understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum, and the ability to authentically integrate te ao Māori across all areas of learning. The successful applicant will: build strong and positive relationships with tamariki and whānau have strong literacy and numeracy teaching practice create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment work collaboratively as part of our supportive Year 5/6 team bring enthusiasm and a commitment to helping our tamariki thrive. Possible job-share This is a full-time permanent position; however, for the right person we are open to discussing a job-share arrangement of three or four days per week.
