About the role
St Joseph’s Māori Girls’ College is seeking an experienced social sciences teacher to join our team in 2027.
We are a Year 7–13 state-integrated school for young Māori women, with a dual special character grounded in te ao Māori and the Catholic faith. We aim to provide every student with the opportunity to achieve and excel.
We are looking for a teacher who enjoys working collaboratively and is keen to contribute to the continued growth of social sciences within our school. We are particularly interested in applicants with a passion for geography, as we look to broaden the subject options available to our students.
Our ideal candidate will:
have strong social sciences curriculum knowledge, including the evolving NCEA environment bring enthusiasm for teaching and learning understand and use culturally responsive pedagogy work collaboratively with colleagues to support positive outcomes for students be committed to ongoing professional growth actively support and contribute to the dual special character of our College.
