The Nest Private Kindergarten in Clive, Hawke’s Bay is looking for a qualified and registered kaiako to join our small, passionate teaching team. The Nest is a boutique early childhood centre licensed for just 32 tamariki, set within a beautiful, established natural environment where trees, gardens, mud, movement and open-ended play are part of everyday learning. We believe children are capable, competent and deserving of an unhurried childhood. Relationships sit at the heart of our practice. We value kaiako who notice deeply, follow children’s interests and understand the importance of uninterrupted, play-based learning. The Nest is entering an exciting new chapter. We’d love to hear from you if you: Are a qualified ECE teacher with current NZ teacher registration Are passionate, reflective and genuinely love working alongside tamariki Believe in play-based, child-led learning Love being outdoors in all seasons Value authentic relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues Are curious and reflective about their practice We are looking for someone to join us for up to four days per week, working approximately 7–8 hour days. Our centre operates from 8am–4.30pm, with teaching shifts beginning at 7.45am or 8am. There is flexibility around days for the right person, but this is not a school-hours position. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to belong, contribute and grow alongside us. Applicants must currently live in NZ and have the right to work here.
