About the role

About us We are a senior secondary school/academy combining high-performance sport pathways, academic excellence, hauora and cultural identity. Our aim is to support holistic development and help rangatahi succeed academically, athletically and personally. Purpose of the role The Director of Wellbeing provides strategic leadership for the wellbeing and personal development of NZPAA students. The role recognises that students at NZPAA experience many of the same challenges as other young people, while also navigating the additional demands of high-performance sport, academic expectations, injury, competition, identity, relationships and life beyond school. The Director of Wellbeing will develop a distinctive NZPAA approach to student-athlete wellbeing, ensuring students are known, supported and able to thrive in education, sport and life. The role will work closely with the Director of Sport to ensure wellbeing and performance are connected, while maintaining clear responsibility for the school's wellbeing strategy and systems. Key responsibilities Wellbeing strategy Student wellbeing and support Student-athlete wellbeing Wellbeing curriculum and personal development Wellbeing systems, data and innovation Student mentoring and development Female athlete wellbeing (advantageous but not essential) We are looking for Passion for an educational environment that values academic achievement, performance, wellbeing and identity.
