Year 9–10 Core Subjects Teacher

Start date: Term 3, 2026 Pacific Advance Secondary School is seeking an enthusiastic, relational and culturally responsive Year 9–10 core subjects teacher to join our kura from Term 3, 2026. PASS is a Special Character secondary school grounded in Pasifika for Pasifika education . Our approach places Pacific identities, languages, cultures and ways of knowing at the heart of learning, while honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our responsibilities to tangata whenua. Our values of Alofa (Love and Commitment), Tautua (Service and Responsibility), and Fa’aaloalo (Respect) guide how we teach, lead and care for our young people. The successful applicant will teach across a range of core curriculum areas in Years 9–10 and contribute to an engaging, integrated junior programme. We are looking for a teacher who builds strong relationships with rangatahi and whānau and believes deeply in the potential of Māori and Pacific learners. We are particularly interested in applicants who: Can confidently teach across Year 9–10 core NZ curriculum areas. Demonstrate strong culturally responsive and relational practice. Are committed to PASS’s Special Character and Pacific-centred approach to education. Hold, or are eligible to hold, a current NZ practising certificate. Work collaboratively and bring energy, creativity and high expectations to junior learning. Are fluent speakers of Samoan – an advantage, but not essential .
