Experienced Teacher

Pacific Advance Secondary School (PASS) is seeking an adaptable, highly skilled, and culturally responsive teacher to cover maternity leave across a range of subjects, including Pacific Studies, English, and classroom release cover. PASS is a Special Character secondary school grounded in Pasifika for Pasifika education. Our approach places Pacific identities, languages, cultures, and ways of knowing at the heart of learning, guided by our core values of Alofa, Tautua, and Fa’aaloalo. We are looking for an experienced teacher with strong pedagogical expertise who thrives in a dynamic environment and brings passion to integrated learning. Key requirements: Subject expertise: Experience teaching Pacific Studies, English, and managing diverse classroom release subjects across junior and senior levels. Strong pedagogy: Demonstrated strength in curriculum design, relational teaching, and culturally responsive practice for Māori and Pacific learners. Flexibility: Adaptability to move seamlessly across different learning areas while maintaining high standards of engagement. Professional standards: Hold a current NZ practicing certificate. Fluent speakers of a Pacific language are highly desirable. Terms and conditions align with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. Salary will range based on qualifications and experience.
