About the role
Are you a passionate, experienced educator who believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive? Whau Valley School is seeking a dedicated, organised and highly collaborative team member to join our vibrant Year 1–6 kura from the beginning of 2027. As a trauma-informed, progressive and inclusive school, we are committed to ensuring every learner is understood, supported and empowered to succeed. Working alongside our senior leadership team, teachers, learning assistants, whānau and specialist agencies, to play a key role in coordinating learning and behavioural support and strengthening inclusive practice across our school. We seek someone who is: A registered New Zealand teacher with a current practising certificate. Experienced in a learning support role. An effective communicator. Confident building positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, whānau and external agencies. A proactive, solutions-focused and passionate about achieving positive outcomes for all learners. A highly organised and confident in managing multiple cases and coordinating support. Confident supporting teacher capability and leading Learning Assistants. Culturally responsive and committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. An inclusive educator with a strong knowledge of the NZ Curriculum. We offer: A full-time, permanent, fully released position. A well-established and collaborative Learning Support Team.
