About the role
Cambridge High School (CHS) is a co-educational school, established in 1883, with a roll of approximately 1,800 students. Cambridge is in the heart of the Waikato region and has recently become a focus for elite sport with cycling, triathlon, kayaking and rowing establishing their New Zealand bases here. Cambridge High School serves the interests of the community incredibly well, meeting the varied academic, trades, cultural and sporting needs of our students. Places at CHS are highly sought after with families choosing to move into town to gain access to the school. This full-time permanent position commences Term 1 2027. We are looking for an innovative, energetic and relationship focused dance teacher to further build our already successful programme. The ideal candidate will have strengths in developing culturally responsive practice, have a strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and dance at NCEA level, alongside an enthusiasm for creating a curriculum relevant to our students. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $62,862 to $105,686, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals’ actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
