English Teacher- Wharekura

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English kaiako for Years 8–13 to join our Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Rāwhitiroa. The successful applicant will be someone who understands, respects and embraces Te Aho Matua and is committed to supporting our ākonga to achieve their full potential. We are looking for a kaiako who: Is committed to the kaupapa and principles of Te Aho Matua. Understands and values te reo Māori me ōna tikanga. Has high expectations for ākonga and is committed to their academic, cultural and personal success. Can inspire and engage ākonga across Years 8–13 in English. Can deliver a strong, relevant and culturally responsive English programme. Is confident supporting senior ākonga with NCEA and preparing them for their future pathways. Builds strong, respectful relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues. Is collaborative, adaptable and willing to contribute to the wider life and kaupapa of the kura. Understands that teaching in a kura kaupapa Māori is about more than delivering a curriculum — it is about nurturing identity, language, culture and the aspirations of our ākonga.
