Head of School - Senior Secondary

Due to ongoing roll growth, we have a number of exciting new teaching and leadership roles available. We are seeking a relational, visionary Christ-centred Head of School – Senior Secondary to lead our senior school (Years 11–13) and serve on our Senior Leadership Team. Hamilton Christian School is a composite Christian school committed to offering rich learning grounded in a Biblical worldview. We pride ourselves on a warm, supportive community where kaimahi and ākonga are valued and encouraged to flourish. What we are looking for: A vibrant personal Christian faith and a heart to build a Biblical culture of shalom. A dynamic, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and full alignment with the school's Statement of Faith. Proven senior leadership experience with a deep understanding of Te Mātaiaho / NZ Curriculum, NCEA frameworks, and NZQA compliance. Outstanding relational skills, such as exceptional communication, emotional intelligence, and relational leadership, to walk alongside staff, mentor secondary teachers, and partner with whānau. Expertise in tracking NCEA achievement data, managing senior timetabling, and guiding leavers through tertiary, vocational, and career pathways. Strong pastoral heart to lead student discipleship, wellbeing, and student leadership (Prefects, Student Council). You will translate our school charter into action; guide and support staff, students and whānau; foster professional growth and well-being; oversee senior reporting; support learning needs (IEPs/extensions; manage the senior budget; and run key events such as Graduation and Prizegiving. Applicants must be NZ-registered teachers with current NZ work rights.
