Teacher (New Entrant Experience)

Kaharoa School is seeking an experienced, effective teacher who genuinely enjoys working with our youngest learners and can create a warm, positive and well-structured classroom where children feel safe, connected and excited about learning. Strong foundations in early literacy and numeracy, effective classroom routines, positive behaviour management, and the ability to build strong relationships with tamariki and whānau will be important. We are looking for someone who is organised, works positively as part of a team, and is keen to contribute to the wider life of our school. Kaharoa School is a rural Year 0–8 school on the outskirts of Rotorua. We are large enough to provide a wide range of opportunities while remaining small enough to know our students and families well. We have spacious grounds, excellent facilities, well-resourced classrooms and a collegial staff. These underpin our positive approach to learning, behaviour and growing strong character. This is one of three full-time teaching positions for 2027, arising from internal promotion and role changes. Two positions are permanent and one is fixed term for parental leave cover. Our priority is appointing outstanding classroom teachers, with some flexibility depending on the strengths and experience of successful applicants.
