At Lumsden Kindergarten, we believe great teaching begins with great people — people who love children, want to keep learning and are excited to become the very best teacher they can be. We are intentionally looking for a newly qualified or nearly-qualified ECE teacher to join our Little Lumsden team. Why a beginning teacher? Because we love the opportunity to support someone from the start of their journey — helping them build confidence, develop strong practice, discover their own strengths and understand what quality teaching really looks and feels like. You won’t be expected to know everything. You will be supported, guided and given time to shadow experienced teachers before taking responsibility for an area. What we do expect is the right attitude, initiative and a genuine desire to grow. You’ll especially suit us if you: genuinely love infants and toddlers and believe care and education go hand in hand value play as powerful learning are calm, kind and able to hold clear boundaries enjoy getting down at children’s level and becoming part of their learning welcome feedback and want to keep developing your practice want to become part of a team and somewhere worth staying. Our Little Lumsden team is experienced, close-knit and incredibly proud of the programme they provide. They are particular about who joins them because our tamariki deserve teachers who truly care. We are not looking for someone already planning their next move. We want someone ready to start with us, grow with us and become exceptional with us.
