Waiheke Primary School is looking for an exceptional leader of learning and pastoral care to join our senior leadership team as Deputy Principal. We are seeking someone to Lead with strong relational practice, building trust and a positive, inclusive school culture. drive excellence in teaching and learning, particularly in literacy and numeracy, within a rich and engaging curriculum. ensure equity and inclusion are at the centre, with strong systems for supporting diverse ākonga. About you You are a leader of learning. You drive excellent teaching and continuous improvement, bring strong curriculum knowledge, and have led a team or syndicate. You've planned and developed pedagogy — and you lead by example, staying open to feedback. You put connection first. Restorative practice is second nature to you. You form strong, trusting relationships with children, parents and whānau, mentor colleagues generously, and provide outstanding pastoral care. You're calm under pressure. You're ready to step up as Acting Principal as needed, and you'll be responsive outside normal hours on rotation when property, health, safety or wellbeing issues arise. You're on the waka , with a proactive mindset and a genuine wish to contribute to the wider life of our school. The role includes overseeing Professional Growth Cycles for Team Leaders, leading student achievement data and Board reporting, whole-school timetabling and relievers, our Hero SMS, and student leadership programmes.
