Poioia te Pitomata - Harness the Potential Rutherford Intermediate is a kura with a strong sense of purpose, pride and possibility. With 145 ākonga and potential for further growth, we are looking for a new tumuaki to lead our kura into its next chapter. Following a significant period of positive change, Rutherford has established a strong foundation and is now ready to build on its successes and embrace the opportunities ahead. Our ākonga are at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our values Kia Manaaki – Be Respectful, Kia Manawanui – Be Resilient and Kia Tūtika – Be Responsible . Our kura is committed to place-based learning, creating rich opportunities for ākonga to discover their strengths, challenge themselves and grow in confidence. Our motto, Poioia te Pitomata – Harness the Potential , captures our belief in the unique strengths and potential of every learner. We are seeking an experienced educational leader who understands the unique opportunities of intermediate education and will take time to listen, understand and honour the journey that has brought Rutherford to this point. Our next tumuaki will be a visible, relational and culturally responsive leader who builds trust, belonging and strong partnerships with ākonga, ngā kaimahi / staff, whānau and community. You will bring proven capability in people leadership, curriculum and pedagogical leadership, school improvement and developing staff capability, alongside the courage and confidence to navigate the unique opportunities of an Intermediate kura. You will value and continue to strengthen all things Te Ao Māori, while championing innovative opportunities that enable our ākonga to thrive.
