Homebased Visiting Teacher

Selwyn Kids is looking for a qualified ECE teacher to join our homebased team as a full-time visiting teacher. You’ll mentor and support homebased educators, ask the questions that get people thinking, navigate challenges and help strengthen practice across our network. It’s a role built around relationships, professional conversations, problem-solving and helping others grow. No two days look quite the same, and we like it that way. We’re looking for someone who: builds genuine relationships and communicates well listens, asks good questions and can navigate challenging conversations takes initiative and manages their own workload understands Te Whāriki and enjoys supporting others to develop is reflective, curious and open to feedback can work independently while being part of a close team You’ll need a recognised ECE teaching qualification, current Full New Zealand Teaching Council practising certificate and full NZ driver’s licence. Homebased experience is not essential. We’ll support the right person to learn the Homebased side of the role. This is a 37.5-hour-per-week position based in Rolleston, with a company vehicle provided. A note about remuneration: Homebased visiting teachers are not currently included in government-funded ECE pay parity. This is a sector-wide funding issue and impacts remuneration for visiting teacher roles across homebased ECE. Further information about remuneration will be provided during the recruitment process.
