Classroom Teacher

We are after a great teacher and a good sort! Our preference is to find an outstanding teacher to join our Year 7-8 team, but we're keeping an open mind. If Years 5–8 is where you do your best work, we'd like to hear from you. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a desire to keep improving, the ability to cope when things get busy, and the resilience to keep going when things don't go to plan. Someone who can work hard, laugh often, enjoy being part of a team and, most importantly, cares. Someone who builds great relationships with children, takes responsibility and wants to make a difference. Someone with high expectations for their learners – and themselves. Waipawa School is a Year 1–8 school in the heart of Central Hawke's Bay. We have a great-sized staff, great kids, and a culture built around our values of Kotahitanga, Aroha, Hiwa, Ako, Hākinakina and Pārekareka. Our teachers are flexible and work together. We value great teaching, while making sure our children leave Waipawa as capable, confident young people who can think, communicate, contribute and have a bit of fun along the way. Teaching our older learners is about great teaching, strong relationships, clear expectations and helping young people become increasingly responsible for themselves and their learning.
