Centre Manager

About us Kids Count isn't your typical corporate childcare group. We started in 2009 because a child's start in life shouldn't depend on what their family can afford. Free transport, low fees, meals sorted, whether or not a parent's in work. We run five centres across South Auckland, led by people who know their families. About the role We're after an experienced, hands-on centre manager to lead our Lenore Road centre in Favona, full-time. You'll run compliance, teaching standards, your team and the centre's financial performance, all at once, and be visible doing it. Favona's a genuinely multicultural, close-knit community, and our roll's grown steadily for six months. We need someone who can build on that. What you'll be doing Leading and mentoring your team Keeping the educational programme genuinely grounded in Te Whāriki Managing the budget, staffing and rostering Staying compliant with ECE regulations and Ministry of Education requirements Building real relationships with families What we're looking for A Diploma in ECE or equivalent, with current registration or willingness to get it At least 5 years in ECE, including 3+ in management Solid knowledge of Te Whāriki and good practice Confidence with budgets and operational planning A genuine commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive practice What we offer Remuneration that reflects your experience Real support for your development and leadership growth A staff discount on childcare for your own kids
