Assistant Principal (Pastoral and Wellbeing)

We seek an experienced, relational, and student-centred leader to join our senior leadership team as an assistant principal. This key leadership role is responsible for pastoral care, student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, and inclusion, while supporting the school's strategic and operational leadership. The successful applicant will be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture in which students feel connected, valued, and supported in succeeding. They will build strong relationships with students, staff, whānau, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes for all learners. Key responsibilities include: Leading pastoral care, student wellbeing, and attendance systems across the school Overseeing behaviour management, engagement initiatives, and student support programmes Coordinating SENCO services, teacher aides, and alternative education pathways Supporting academic tutor and school-wide wellbeing programmes Coordinating transition, enrolment, and community engagement events Supporting pastoral leaders and Heads of Faculty while contributing to the strategic and operational leadership of the school The ideal applicant will have proven leadership experience, a commitment to equity and inclusion, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to leadership.
