Ko wai mātou | About Us Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3. Our ākonga are at the centre of all we do. Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position We're looking for a dedicated Secondary Kaiako with expertise in Mathematics & Statistics to join our Te Kāhui Hauāuru region from 28 January 2027. This role can be based in either our Hamilton, Rotorua or Tauranga tari (office). Kaiako at Te Kura engage with our ākonga online and face-to-face at huinga ako (advisories) and events, and also work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices. Te Kura aims to provide flexible working arrangements, so Kaiako are able to request to work from home for up to two days per week. Ko koe tēnei | About you You will bring: a New Zealand teacher registration and a current practising certificate Strong knowledge of the Mathematics and Statistics curriculum and assessment practices a calm, inclusive, and supportive approach to teaching and pastoral care confidence using digital tools to connect with learners enthusiasm for collaborative, values driven teaching a genuine interest in learning and embracing te reo Māori, with a commitment to growing your skills.
