About the role
Te Rito Maioha is a Category One rated tertiary provider and a Te Tiriti-led organisation committed to strengthening outcomes for tamariki, whānau and hapori through high-quality, culturally grounded teacher education. We are seeking a Lecturer | Kaiako to join our team in a full-time role based at our Nelson | Whakatū Regional Education Centre, teaching within our BTch (ECE) or GradDip (ECE) programmes. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, culturally responsive teaching and help shape the next generation of teachers. You will support tauira success and embed te Tiriti o Waitangi in teaching and learning practice. Key responsibilities include: preparing and delivering course material assessing student work and providing meaningful feedback supervising student teacher placements with mentorship and guidance developing and updating curriculum materials contributing to programme administration, including recruitment and retention participating in research and scholarly activity We are looking for someone with: a postgraduate qualification (Masters) in Education or a related field a strong background in Early Childhood Education full teacher certification and a current practising certificate strong communication and interpersonal skills commitment to innovative, evidence-based and student-centred teaching the ability to work collaboratively within a team Research and publication capability is desirable.
