We are looking for a caring and talented leader to support our Year 5 and 6 team of five classes and around 140 students (explorers). Our philosophy of leadership as service means we work to support our teachers and explorers to help them to achieve their goals. We will nourish you with high quality professional learning, daily fresh fruit and snacks, stylish merchandise and a proper coffee machine! All of this in an idyllic rural setting at a very well resourced school. Our school is a U5 school with a roll of 430 set in park-like grounds 5 minutes from Cambridge, 15 minutes from Hamilton. The leader we are looking for will be able to: Work as part of an effective leadership team to support learners, and teachers. Help lead curriculum development within a structured environment alongside some of New Zealand’s leading facilitators. Build effective, warm and culturally responsive learning relationships with learners, their whānau and staff Engage learners through relevant, innovative and high quality classroom management Ensure EVERY child in their class and team gets a great learning experience every day An understanding of explicit teaching practices along with the ability to lead literacy and / or maths with a scope and sequence approach is an expectation.
