Pitt Island School is seeking an inspiring, student-centred teaching principal to lead our school into its next chapter. Set in an isolated but incredibly scenic environment of the Chatham Islands, Pitt Island offers something truly different. We are looking for a principal who: Puts students at the heart of every decision Has experience in a leadership capacity; both within governance and operational management of a school Is an excellent classroom practitioner, with sound curriculum knowledge and a clear commitment to inclusive, dynamic and engaging education in a multi-level classroom environment Will lead with warmth, energy and a strong sense of community to foster connections with whānau, the wider community and our unique island environment Continue to honour our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and have a sound understanding in Tikanga Māori Supports and grows a positive, collaborative staff culture Is organised, resilient, adaptable and open to the opportunities and challenges of remote island living What we offer A school where you can make a genuine difference; Pitt Island is a place where you will know your students, their families and your community.
