St. Mary’s is a vibrant, multicultural, state-integrated Catholic school located in the heart of Gisborne’s Catholic community. We are seeking a collaborative, pedagogically strong teacher with initiative to join our friendly, supportive team starting in the 2027 school year. Key requirements and desirable strengths: Special character: A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the Special Character of the school shall be a condition of appointment (Schedule 6, Clause 47). Teaching level: Year levels are negotiable based on strengths and experience, but likely within our Year 3–6 team. Pedagogy: High-impact, explicit direct teaching strategies and assessment for learning pedagogy and practice. Literacy and learning: Knowledge and training in Structured Literacy approaches. Digital environment: Familiarity working within 1:1 Chromebook device classrooms and Google Workspace for Education. Applicant eligibility: New Zealand-trained or experienced teachers preferred.
