We are proud of the many successes of our ākonga and our ārahi programme. We are seeking an experienced and collaborative social sciences educator to take on the role of faculty lead - social sciences. This is a strategic leadership position providing oversight and direction across the faculty, while supporting and developing heads of subject to lead effectively within their specialist areas. The successful applicant will foster a high-trust culture, maintain a strong focus on teaching, learning and learner outcomes, and ensure the faculty is aligned with the wider vision and strategic priorities of Nelson College for Girls. Applicants should be able to connect easily with young people and make learning relevant to life. Excellent communication skills are important as is the need to be flexible, creative and organised. As a classroom practitioner, you will have experience with providing rich learning opportunities at both junior and senior level with demonstrated practice of high expectations for ākonga and critical, culturally responsive pedagogy. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school are essential attributes for this role.
