About the role
He tunga kaiako ki tou mātou kura hei te timatanga o te wahanga tuatoru 2024, nā reira me mātua pono ki te kaupapa ki te akiaki, ki te awhina me te tautokohia ngā tauira i roto i tō ratou mahi e pā ana ki te ao Māori.
He mohio anō hoki ki ngā mātāpono o Te Marautanga o Aotearoa me ngā āheinga ki te whakatinana i ngā uaratanga. Ko te reo me ōna tikanga.
We have a permanent teaching position in our Māori Bilingual Unit – Te Whānau o Te Maro, commencing Term 1, 2027. We seek a highly motivated, enthusiastic kaiako who thrives in a culturally rich environment and is dedicated to adding value to our kura.
This role requires a kaiako dedicated to living and teaching through Māori kaupapa, immersing tauira in tikanga Māori, te reo Māori, and a culture of te ao Māori on a daily basis. The position is to work in a Level 3 Māori Bilingual class. Kaiako need to be competent in Te Reo me ona Tikanga, with a strong passion for empowering akonga Māori through a culturally responsive, identity-affirming curriculum. A solid knowledge of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and the ability to work collaboratively alongside five other kaiako Māori within the Māori Unit is essential.
