About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a passion for inclusive education to join our well-established Learning Support Department. This full-time, permanent position involves working with ESOL students and ORS-funded students. The successful applicant will support students to access the curriculum, develop their English language proficiency, and achieve success through personalised and inclusive learning programmes. The role includes planning and delivering engaging teaching programmes that support language acquisition, literacy development, communication, and individual learning goals. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, learning support staff, whānau, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for all learners. Applicants should have experience working with diverse learners, including students learning English as an additional language and those with significant learning needs. Knowledge of the English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) and experience in supporting students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) would be an advantage. The successful candidate will Have experience supporting ESOL students and students with additional learning needs. Be skilled in planning and delivering responsive literacy and language learning programmes. Use assessment information to identify needs, monitor progress, and inform teaching practice. Work collaboratively with Learning Support assistants (LSAs), classroom teachers and whānau. Build positive relationships that support student wellbeing and achievement. Contribute positively to a supportive, student-centred department. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-resourced and collaborative Learning Support Department.
