About the role
11.5 hours per week | Part-time | Starting 28 September 2026 Centre coordinator Tuesday 10.00am – 2.00pm Friday 10.00am – 1.30pm Permanent position during term time only Kaimahi 4 hours per week, day and time negotiable Permanent position during term time only, plus 1 week during each school holiday About the roles The centre coordinator is the Person Responsible on session, providing high quality support and pedagogical guidance to Playcentre whānau. Duties include, but are not limited to: Developing whānau to be the best educators for their tamariki by ensuring rich, meaningful, child-led curriculum experiences Providing advice and support to centre whānau focusing on curriculum, adult education and health and safety Recognise principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how they relate to Playcentre. Actively engage in promotion of Māori cultural values Click here to view or to download the full Position Description The kaimahi is responsible for supporting centre whānau in day-to-day administration, enrolments, and coordination of centre activities. Duties include, but are not limited to: Ensure compliance with Playcentre Aotearoa policies, Licensing criteria, and Health and Safety requirements. Collaborate with whānau to manage tasks, resources, and programmes, reflecting Playcentre philosophy and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Click here to view or to download the full Position Description About you You will have: Course 3 of the Playcentre Education Diploma or equivalent ECE Qualification Level 4+ Confidence using technology to support learning & administration Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Hold and maintain appropriate First Aid certification NZ residency or valid NZ work visa About us Playcentre Aotearoa is an early childhood education provider with a philosophy of empowering ‘parents as first educators’.
