About us Totally Kids is excited to announce that we are rebranding to Bright Kiwis under dynamic new management! We are a small, boutique early learning centre licensed for 28 children. Focused on creating a warm, supportive, and high-quality environment for our tamariki and staff, we are seeking an exceptional certified head teacher to lead our team. About the role You will lead day-to-day operations while maintaining active, vibrant teaching time on the floor. You'll bring a strong understanding of ECE licensing criteria, compliance, and pedagogical documentation to ensure high standards of care and education. Key responsibilities Compliance and documentation: Oversite of ECE licensing criteria, internal reviews, assessment/planning paperwork, and health and safety requirements. On-the-floor teaching: Actively engage with tamariki, step into teaching ratios, and maintain a warm, intentional learning environment. Leadership and engagement: Mentor a small team and build strong, trusting relationships with parents, whānau, and the wider community. What we are looking for Qualified, registered ECE teacher with a current Practicing Certificate. Leadership experience or readiness to step up into a head teacher role. Deep knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and Ministry of Education licensing criteria. Strong organizational skills to manage administrative tasks efficiently without losing focus on classroom quality. A warm, collaborative approach suited for a small, close-knit environment.
