About the role

Forest View High School is seeking an enthusiastic, committed and culturally responsive teacher to join our team from the beginning of 2027. We are looking for a teacher with strengths in te reo Māori, history and social sciences, who is passionate about engaging ākonga and creating meaningful learning opportunities. This is a permanent, full-time position commencing 27 January 2027. The successful applicant will: Teach engaging and inclusive programmes across te reo Māori, history and social sciences. Develop students' confidence, knowledge and understanding through relevant and authentic learning experiences. Build strong, respectful relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues. Use effective teaching and assessment practices to support student progress and achievement. Contribute positively to curriculum development and collaborative planning. Support culturally responsive practice across the school. Contribute to the wider life of Forest View High School. We are seeking a teacher who: Holds a current New Zealand practising certificate. Has relevant secondary teaching experience. Has specialist knowledge and/or teaching experience in Te Reo Māori, History and Social Sciences. Is passionate about improving outcomes for all ākonga. Demonstrates strong relationship-building and communication skills. Is collaborative, adaptable and willing to contribute to the wider school community. Values te ao Māori and is committed to culturally responsive teaching and learning. Has high expectations for student achievement, engagement and wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and diverse school community and contribute to the continued development of our curriculum and the success of our ākonga.
