About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and committed scale A teacher to join our incredible team. Start date January 2027. Our kura provides specialist education for students aged 5–21 with ORS High and Very High needs. We value inclusive, strengths-based practice and place the wellbeing, mana and aspirations of our ākonga and their whānau at the heart of everything we do. Experience in specialist education is welcomed but is not essential. We warmly encourage applications from teachers currently working in mainstream settings who have a passion for special education. The successful applicant will: be a positive, flexible and collaborative team member; build strong, respectful relationships with ākonga, whānau and colleagues; have a genuine passion for supporting neurodiverse learners; be committed to culturally responsive and inclusive practice; work collaboratively with teacher aides, therapists and other professionals; have strong behaviour management skills and uses positive, evidence-based approaches be able to support students personal care needs, including toileting and feeding where required. demonstrate creativity, patience, resilience and a great sense of humour; and uphold the values and kaupapa of our kura. Applicant must be a NZ registered teacher with a current practising certificate. They must also be legally entitled to work in NZ and hold a current and valid New Zealand work visa.
