About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work at one of New Zealand's leading coeducational schools. Burnside High School is seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of Faculty to lead our Science Faculty. This is a full-time, permanent position carrying 4 Management Units and 2 Middle Management Allowances. The successful applicant will provide strong professional and strategic leadership across the Science programme, guiding curriculum delivery, assessment, and the ongoing development of teaching and learning. You will lead, support, and mentor a team of teachers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing Faculty culture that supports every student to achieve their best. We are seeking a reflective and student-focused leader who demonstrates strong curriculum knowledge, sound organisational and management skills, and a commitment to culturally responsive teaching and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and whānau is essential, along with the capacity to contribute to the wider leadership and life of the school.
