About the role
Commencing 26/01/2027 St Patrick's College, Silverstream is a state-integrated Catholic Marist boys' school for Years 9–13 with a tradition of academic excellence, faith formation, and holistic education. We seek an inspiring, experienced educator to lead our Religious Education Department and inspire our Religious Education team, staff, and students. This is a Tagged (CL47) Position: A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the Special Character of the school is a condition of appointment. You will provide leadership in Religious Education teaching and learning while supporting the faith development of our young men. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will lead the Religious Education Department, support curriculum development, mentor teachers, promote teaching practices, and ensure high levels of student engagement and achievement. This role is responsibility for the delivery of the Religious Education curriculum and department. The successful applicant will: Be a committed and practising Catholic who actively supports the special Catholic and Marist character of the College. Be an experienced and highly effective classroom teacher with a passion for Religious Education. Demonstrate successful curriculum and people leadership. Have a sound knowledge of Tō Tātou Whakapono The Religious Education Curriculum for Catholic Schools in Aotearoa New Zealand and NCEA Religious Studies. Be committed to developing engaging, student-centred learning programmes. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth. Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents. Be an active member of the Ministry team Work collaboratively with the Head of Catholic Character and the SLT member responsible for Catholic Character and Ministry Team supporting our Catholic Marist Character throughout the college.
