Teaching Deputy Principal - Tagged Position

Beginning Term 1, 2027 St. Patrick’s Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking deputy principal to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal role within our school, working alongside our principal and staff. This position requires the applicant to be capable of maintaining programmes and activities that reflect the Catholic Special Character. It is not a condition of appointment that the applicant must be Catholic. Located in Kilbirnie Wellington, St. Patrick’s School is a small Catholic community school. It has a vibrant learning community that values, aroha, respect, working in unity, strong teaching practice, student agency, and a positive, inclusive culture, guided by Catholic principles. As deputy leader, you will: Contribute to school-wide curriculum development, teaching, learning, and assessment practices. Support pastoral care and student wellbeing across the school. Build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, whānau, and the wider community. Support a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive school culture. Provide effective leadership to our team. We are looking for someone who: Is an excellent classroom practitioner and experienced educational leader. Is adaptable, compassionate and empathetic. Leads with clarity, empathy, and confidence, inspiring others to succeed. Is deeply committed to inclusive education, ensuring every child feels valued, connected, and successful. Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of fun to the role, celebrating the successes of others. This will be a teaching position; the year level is negotiable.
