Tēnā koe, We are excited to offer an exceptional teacher the opportunity to join us on a one-year, fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave at Te Kura Tuatahi o Kūkūtāruhe/ Bankwood School. We are looking for a culturally responsive and reflective senior school (yr 5-6) kaiako to join our hardworking and creative team in Term 1, 2027. We are nestled in the heart of Kirikiriroa, with a diverse demographic including 65% Māori and 10% Pasifika, with a roll of 350 students. We have been on our Structured Literacy (BSLA) journey for 5+ years, we utilise the Maths No Problem/ Oxford Maths resource alongside DMIC, Apple technology (1:1 student devices in middle and senior school), specialty science/enviro classes, PB4L and restorative practices, sports and cultural groups (Kapa Haka, Pasifika) with a strong focus on developing our te reo Māori capability across our whole kura. The successful candidate will be well resourced and well supported throughout their time with us. Of paramount importance to our kura is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff and whānau. We offer professional development in Apple Teacher certification, PB4L and restorative practice methodology, Structured Literacy, and te reo Māori development - drawing on internal expertise.
