Assistant Principal

Kaipara College is seeking an Assistant Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an opportunity for an experienced, relational leader to shape how we support our students and our staff as we strengthen our pastoral systems. The role Reporting directly to the Principal, the Assistant Principal will join our senior leadership team with a portfolio assigned to suit their strengths. This may include areas such as pastoral care and leading deans, staff professional learning, curriculum, or other aspects of school leadership. We are interested in what you would bring. This is a teaching role. Qualities and skills Proven experience in pastoral care and restorative practice Experience leading or coaching staff, ideally in a middle or senior leadership role Sound knowledge of effective, evidence-informed classroom management strategies Experience working with whānau and external agencies to support students Confidence using data to identify trends and guide decisions A commitment to culturally responsive practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi A full practising certificate with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand Applicants should state the subject area or areas they teach.
