Te Reo Māori Teacher

Rangitoto College is seeking a permanent Te Reo Māori teacher to join our Māori (Te Manu Taki) Department to start Term 1 2027. The successful applicant will deliver engaging, culturally responsive Te Reo Māori education, foster a supportive learning environment, enrich school culture, and willing to teach beyond the Te Reo curriculum. Please refer to the attached job description for specific details of the role. Key responsibilities: Teach Te Reo Māori across various year levels. Develop and implement culturally relevant and dynamic lesson plans. Support and encourage students’ language development and cultural understanding. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular integration of Māori pathways. Participate in school-wide cultural initiatives and professional development. Qualifications and skills: A relevant teaching qualification and current registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand. Proficiency in Te Reo Māori and a deep understanding of Māori culture. The ability to teach Te Reo Māori. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
