The Board of Hastings Christian School invites applications for the position of Principal, commencing Term 2, 2027, or at a date negotiated with the successful applicant. We are seeking a Principal who will: Authentically lead and enhance the school’s special character as a committed Christian. This is a tagged position. Inspire excellence in teaching, learning and student achievement. Foster a school culture where every learner is known, supported, challenged and encouraged to flourish. Demonstrate sound curriculum knowledge and a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning. Bring proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to provide clear direction and inspire others. Build positive, trusting relationships through excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Encourage and support the professional growth and development of staff. Develop strong partnerships with students, staff, whānau, governing bodies and the wider community. Lead strategically with integrity, wisdom and vision while remaining visible, approachable and connected to school life. Special Character A willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school is a condition of appointment. The successful applicant will accept responsibility for maintaining, preserving and enriching the Christian special character of Hastings Christian School.
