2 Team Leaders

Team Leader Pākura – Years 1–3 Team Leader Kārearea – Years 4–6 Our two team leaders will join a dedicated leadership team and help guide our teachers and staff from the front. We are seeking inspirational leaders who model our school values with authenticity and bring a strong proven understanding of our school and wider community. As a team leader, you will work alongside our deputy principals and principal to drive our strategic direction, elevate high-quality teaching and learning within your Hapū, and nurture a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment. Key responsibilities Pedagogical leadership: Lead curriculum implementation, guide evidence-based teaching practices, and mentor teachers in designing creative, student-centered learning opportunities. Data and interventions: Analyse student achievement data alongside Deputy Principals to identify trends, target interventions for Tier 2 and ALL learners, and support Board of Trustees reporting. Living our values (Ō Tātou Taonga): Model and embed our school values—Whakawhanaungatanga, Ako, Kotahitanga, Kaitiakitanga, and Tikanga—in everyday practice and whānau engagement. Team operations and culture: Foster high-trust relationships, support student wellbeing and behaviour management, oversee team administration (RAMS, professional files, IEPs with our LSC), and promote staff wellbeing. What we are looking for A proven track record of excellent classroom practice and strong pedagogical knowledge. An approachable, relational leader who excels at building collective efficacy and professional trust. Familiarity with structured literacy (BSLA), contemporary math pedagogies, and learner-centered intervention strategies. Strong organisational, communication, and administration skills. A commitment to bicultural practice and culturally responsive education. Great communication, strong organisation, and a heart for supporting staff and student wellbeing.
