About the role
“Every child needs a champion, an adult who will never give up on them.” Are you an aspiring, inspiring, and motivating teacher looking to make a meaningful difference? Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate Junior School is seeking a champion educator to join our passionate whānau to cover a maternity leave position starting in Term 1, 2027. Our Collegiate offers a unique educational pathway comprising three schools on one site: junior school (Year 1–6), middle school (Year 7–8), and senior school (Year 9–13). Together, we are dedicated to Nurturing Wayfinders of Tomorrow - charting a seamless learning journey, rooted in wellbeing and educational excellence. First and foremost, we are looking for a teacher who puts our tamariki at the heart of everything they do. We are seeking an educator who: Demonstrates resilience, a growth mindset, and a commitment to driving positive outcomes for all learners. Is a collaborative team player—solution-focused, supportive, and dedicated to actively promoting collegiality. Embodies cultural responsiveness, holds a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and naturally weaves te ao Māori into a learning environment. Builds and sustains warm, relational connections with staff, students, whānau, and our wider community. Actively models and upholds our school values of whanaungatanga, whakaute, and kounga, alongside a spirit of Kotahitanga. If you are ready to guide our tamariki on their learning journey within a supportive, vibrant team, we would love to hear from you!
