Year 7-13 Physical Education and Health Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Physical Education teacher to join our team from the beginning of the 2027 school year. This position involves teaching Physical Education and Health across Years 7-10 and Senior NCEA Physical Education. The successful applicant will be passionate about developing students' physical competence, confidence, wellbeing, leadership, and lifelong engagement in physical activity. We are looking for a teacher who: Delivers engaging, high-quality Physical Education and Health programmes. Has a sound understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA requirements. Creates positive learning environments where all students can experience success. Builds strong, respectful relationships with students and whānau. Contributes positively to the wider life of the school, including co-curricular and sporting opportunities. Works collaboratively within a supportive and professional staff team. Additional Head of Department Physical Education responsibilities may be available for a suitable applicant. This additional position carries the equivalent of 2 fixed-term management units and associated release time. Beginning teachers with suitable experience and enthusiasm are welcome to apply. Terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Area School Teachers' Collective Agreement – Education in New Zealand (ASTCA). Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed. A willingness and ability to uphold the special character of the school and a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school shall be condition of appointment.
