About the role
Kimi i te ora. Kimi i te mātauranga. Our kaupapa At Te Kura o Kimi Ora, connection is at the heart of learning. We nurture connections to whānau, whenua, language, culture and identity, and seek to enhance the mana and mauri of every tamaiti. Our junior classrooms lay the foundations for tamariki to see themselves as capable, confident learners. We believe strong relationships, emotional safety and a sense of belonging support meaningful engagement and progress. We hold high expectations for every learner while responding thoughtfully to their strengths, development and individual needs. Our approach to early learning Our junior teaching philosophy brings together purposeful play, exploration and explicit teaching. Tamariki have time to wonder, move, create, revisit ideas and develop independence. Alongside these experiences, kaiako deliberately model, explain, scaffold and extend learning, building strong foundations in oral language, literacy and mathematics. Predictable routines, rhythms and meaningful rituals help tamariki feel secure and connected. We teach social and emotional skills through everyday interactions, supporting children to understand their feelings, care for others and participate confidently in classroom life. Te reo Māori me ōna tikanga are woven through our daily practice, relationships and learning experiences. We value the languages, cultures and identities of our Māori and Pasifika tamariki and the knowledge their whānau bring. This position commences in 2027.
